Information about Argentina

In Mendoza, there are four fertile oases suitable for agriculture covering 800,000 hectares: 545,000 hectares with irrigation system installed and 282,000 cultivated at present.

Besides, the province implements quality assurance systems for the productive processes. The primary sector has reached an important revitalisation, promoting as a consequence, the industrial sector.

Mendoza’s strategy is to develop the foreign market, and it has an advantageous relative price that increases competitiveness. Among other characteristics, it also has strategic planning, fiscal order, economic order, legal security, institutional continuity and quality.

The new macroeconomic situation of Argentina gives privilege to the production of exportable goods, and these are the areas which have made Mendoza’s economy so dynamic during 2003 and 2004. The exchange rate placing the dollar value high definitively improved these sectors' profitability, causing most private investments publicly known in the last 18 months to focus their attention on these sectors.

The Provincial Government, within the structure of its Ministry of Economy,
has created an entity in charge of the affairs related to Attraction of Investments, having as its main goal to speed up operations and to provide contacts and information necessary to conveniently optimize investments. Its staff consists of a group of highly trained and experienced professionals who efficiently give advice to those who consult. Investing in Mendoza is a good piece of advice.
