| At present,
Mendoza counts on companies providing the necessary
supplies for cargo conditioning that assure the exporter
the best handling of the product at the time of transporting
it to its destination.
Financial banking contributes
to consolidating international commerce by means of
different instruments such as credit lines for exporters,
contingency insurance, international documents for
payment and collection and international factoring.
Road Transport
A high percentage (74%) of the production in the province
is transported by lorry, except oil distillates which
are transported by polyducts.
National Road (NR) 7 is the main
access to deliver goods out of the province. To the
east, it linkss Mendoza to San Luis and Buenos Aires,
and to the roads leading to the provinces of Córdoba,
Santa Fé, north-eastern Argentina and to the
roads to Brazil. In addition, NR 188 can alternatively
be used for access to Patagonia. To the west, this
road connects the province to Chile through the “Paso
las Cuevas” and to other countries through the
Pacific Ocean.
NR 40, which crosses the country
parallel to the Andes Mountains, connects Mendoza
to San Juan, north-western Argentina and Río
Negro. On the other hand, NR 188 meets NR 33 and NR
3 in the Patagonia. The latter covers all the provinces
of the southern part of the country, parallel to the
Atlantic Ocean.
Rail Transport
“Ferrocarril
de América Latina Logística” (ALL)
mainly transports wine, must, cement and coke carbon
to be delivered within the domestic market or abroad.
Polyduct
Transport
Oil distillates are transported by means
of a polyduct network that links Luján de Cuyo
and Villa Mercedes, where it diverges to two destinations:
Montecristo (Córdoba) and La Matanza (Buenos
Aires).
Zona Franca
Mendoza (Free Trade Zone)
Mendoza Free Trade Zone is located in the new Provincial
Industrial Park, in the district of Luján de
Cuyo, on Provincial Road 84 (no number), 35 km. from
the capital city of Mendoza and 42 km. from the International
Airport.
This privileged position is benefited by the fact
that National Roads No. 7 (connecting Atlantic and
Pacific Oceans, 800 m. far) and No. 40 (North-South
inter-provincial communication link) are very near.
Mendoza Free Trade Zone, through the Andean Corridor,
has a direct access to the main South Pacific ports
and it is only 400 km. from Valparaíso, 420
km from Ventanas and 470 km. from San Antonio Port
(Chile).
Atlantic Ocean ports are reached through the “Panamericana”
and “ALL” railway systems.
